The care and communication was excellent, however I could not believe the ridiculous short term decision to not carry out ear syringing, surely to save on costs. This will only create an impact on the referral places, but also have greater and possibly more detrimental effects on patients with their delay for treatment. The cost saving will also only be short term.

Resorted to A&E as an appointment here is impossible. I tried several times during day to get appointment as I was in agony.

I work in the pharmaceutical industry and know all the practices in this town. I trust my healthcare to this practice above the others in my catchment area. They are blessed with some good dermatologists here too. Yes they could improve the phone system and they could do with seeing more reps ! However the fact that I trust them with my own health is absolutely the best endorsement I can give.

1 - As I work full time I find it almost impossible to get an appointment with a doctor as told they will have to call you back first. I work in a busy office so have to give them my mobile number to call me back on and have to walk out of the busy room to speak to the doctor and cannot always get a private room to have the conversation in. 2 - I am allocated a doctor at Delapre surgery when I live 50 yards from Whitefield surgery I am told it is best to see my allocated doctor. Surely it is more convenient to see a doctor at Whitefields. 3 - My husband was waiting for 15 minutes in the 'queue' and ended up putting the phone down, walked to Whitefields surgery only to be told he had to phone. 4 - No travel nurse for years (not to sure about 2015)told to call some clinic near Milton Keynes, they couldn't help and passed from one place to another. In the end I called asking for an appointment with a nurse for personal reasons and was given an appointment at Delapre and had my issue resolved.

I can't remember the last time I rang Delapre Medical Centre and managed to get through. I normally have to resort to calling Whitefields to get an appointment at Delapre which is just ridiculous. The phone lines NEVER open at 8 am so don't lie and say they do. When the phone lines did finally 'open' this morning I wasn't even put in a queue; the phone just kept giving me a 'line busy' tone and hanging up! I rang 82 times before my partner managed to get through to Whitefields on his phone (where the same thing had been happening with regards to hanging up but he at least he finally got some options!) The last time I tried to get through, several months ago, I was "number 1" in the queue for 45 minutes!!! I've never known anything like it! I would like to say that the majority of the doctors and nurses do a fantastic job but the processes, systems, phone lines and reception let the surgery down massively.
